New Tune Tuesday :"A Few Magic Words"

So here it is, the inaugural installment of New Tune Tuesday here on Songbird Serenade!

I am excited to share a song I recently created entitled "A Few Magic Words". This song was written with the purpose of practicing asking for and requesting items. I work with many different students and clients that this song is going to be very appropriate for.

In the song there are blanks left after the phrases "I need" and "I want" in order to provide an opportunity for practice. For some, the space in the recording may not be enough time to formulate and express a need/want. That is the beauty of playing it live in sessions and adjusting to the need with rubato.

The recording and editing process took me awhile, but I feel I learned a lot to make it go more smoothly in the future. I can be a  perfectionist, and eventually had to be OK with a few flaws in the recording. I know with time I will learn the art of recording myself singing. as well as become a better singer.

So there it is, the first song of the 52 I promise to bring you in 2012! I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think!
