The next songwriter I would like to highlight is a lesser known artist who is quickly making himself known with the band I Fight Dragons. The lead singer, Brain Mazzaferi, is also the the band's songwriter, and boy does he have a true knack for it! My husband and I have been avid followers of the band since their conceptions in late 2008, and not only have we seen nearly every show in Chicago and have all of the band's recorded music, but we also have a complete collection of Brian's solo demos and releases before the band.

I believe Brian is a great songwriter because he can write some tremendously catching melodies. Also, his strong sense of the band's concept (NES Rock) is weaved into every aspect of his music. Lastly, his music is diverse. Even through each song has chiptune in the sound, the overall style of the is not identical from track to track. I can hear the nuances and influences of his idols. Check out the following two songs because they are two of my favorites. Also, find these guys on the Warped Tour this summer, and experience more than their great songwriter. Every musical aspect of this band is very stong! I can't say anything bad about their bass guitarist, lead guitarist, drummer, back up vocals, and Power Pad playing!
